Capturing New Zealand From A Different Perspective

Welcome to Glen McMillan Photography, where New Zealand's wildlife, landscapes and natural beauty are captured through the lens of a photographer who sees the world from a unique perspective. As a wheelchair user and lifelong photographer, I often photograph from a seated position, creating images that reflect a viewpoint many people never experience.

My passion is New Zealand nature photography, particularly our incredible native birds. From the colourful Tūī and curious Pīwakawaka (Fantail) to Kererū, Kōtare and many other native species, I enjoy documenting the wildlife that makes New Zealand one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Many of my photographs are taken throughout Northland, where native birds and stunning landscapes provide endless inspiration.

Photography has allowed me to combine creativity, patience and a love of the outdoors. Sometimes I quietly wait for the perfect wildlife moment. Other times I use drone photography to capture locations that may be difficult to access. Every image tells a story and reflects a genuine connection with the natural world.

This website showcases a growing collection of bird photography, landscape photography, nature photography, drone photography and motorsport photography. Selected images are available for licensing, digital downloads, educational projects and future print collections.

Beyond photography, I am also the founder of Children with Disability New Zealand and a passionate advocate for accessibility and inclusion. Through this website I hope to share not only beautiful images, but also demonstrate that disability should never be a barrier to creativity, exploration or achievement.

Take a look through the galleries, discover New Zealand's remarkable wildlife and enjoy seeing our country from a different perspective.
